The crew behind the trips.
Vets R Us, Inc. was founded in the spring of 2023 by Valerie (Val) Rasmussen, our President, after a Leech Lake veterans' retreat left her speechless. She doesn't hunt, but she's out on the shooting range, she baits her own hook, takes the fish off, and drives the boat.
Beside her is Howard Rasmussen, Vice President — Navy Boiler Technician (BT2), boot camp at Great Lakes, stationed in San Diego and Long Beach, part of the recommissioning crew of the U.S.S. Missouri. On sunny days you'll find him fishing with Val, friends, and fellow veterans.
Allan Tate, Marine Corps Corporal, plans the activities alongside his wife Patty — the 'get things done' half of every event, who keeps everyone on track while building our presence in the community.
Together they run every trip on one belief: camaraderie doesn't happen by accident. Developing trust, accountability, and togetherness requires intentional effort.
