What's swimming

Heavily stocked catfish, in every size that pulls.

The pond holds an abundance of different-sized cats and has been heavily stocked all season — the hauler backs up to the bank and pours in loads like the recent 500-pounder, with restocks running weekly or biweekly as fish demand calls for it. Fresh 10 and 12-pounders were on the bank this week.

Big fish stay in the water: anything 12 pounds or over is property of the lake and goes straight back, so the giants keep getting bigger. Land one at 15 pounds or over, get the weight verified at the scale, and your next visit is on the house.

The fish shack

Bait, tackle, and cold drinks at the water's edge.

No need to stop on the way — the shack keeps Brandon's Monkey Dough, Jungle Juice, spring hooks, night crawlers, chicken livers, and odds-and-ends tackle stocked, plus cold drinks and snacks for the long sits.

Shaded areas around the bank, level handicap-accessible parking, and a weigh-in scale by the shack for when you think you've got a free-pass fish.

House rules

Simple rules, better fishing.

Be considerate of the folks fishing around you — mind their space, stay in yours, and don't cast right next to or over anybody. Families fish here, so keep the language clean.

  • 2-pole limit per person
  • No treble or 3-prong hooks
  • Catch-and-release fish go right back in
  • Stringer or basket fish stay caught — no culling
  • 12 lbs and over: back in the lake immediately
  • 15 lbs and over: verified weight earns a FREE pass
  • No re-entry on a paid ticket
  • Trash in the cans, no pets, no fires or grills

New hands, same water

The lake never went dark.

When Pop's Paylake wound down in July 2026, the property's owner stepped in the same week so the water never sat empty — reopening as Lakeview Paylake on July 23rd, family owned and operated, with the gate up at 7 am sharp.

Since then it's been steady stocking, cleaned-up banks, and a promise kept simple: a clean, family-oriented place where old friends come back and new ones get made.

Me and my wife caught these out to Lakeview Pay Lake last week. They stock this lake real good. — a happy angler on Facebook
