Boat lift storm protection · Fort Myers

Keep your boat on the lift in Fort Myers when the next storm comes through.

Fort Myers means river lifts and Gulf-access canals that took the worst of Ian's surge. A lift hanging on its cables swings like a pendulum in high wind. Boat Lift Lock pins the I-beams to your pilings so the whole thing stands as one rigid structure.

Why lifts fail

A boat lift is a pendulum until something stops it.

Your boat rests on bunk boards bolted to two I-beams, and those I-beams hang from stainless cables. In a tropical storm the whole cradle swings, the cables fray, the pilings take side loads they were never built for, and the lift lets go.

Boat Lift Lock connects the I-beams to the pilings with four marine-grade aluminum arms. Raise the lift to the height indicator, drop the arms, pin them, tighten the two turnbuckles. Under five minutes, no tools, and the lift and pilings become one structure.

Two answers decide it

Which system fits your lift?

Every quote starts with the same two questions. Answer them here and the request form opens already filled in, so we can quote on the callback instead of asking again.

1 · Can you reach all four pilings from the dock?
2 · Boat lift capacity

Boat Lift Lock works with any conventional boat lift, with or without access to all four pilings. Concrete pilings and angled lifts get measured on the site visit.

Your system

Answer question 1

Both configurations use the same four-arm principle: the arms connect the I-beams to the pilings so the lift and the pilings become one rigid structure. The only question is which pilings you can walk to.

I have two boat lifts with concrete pilings. One of the lifts is at an angle to the dock, which only allowed me to reach one piling. Boat Lift Lock engineered a system that would automatically engage the three nonreachable pilings and I could manually engage the reachable piling. The engineering and machine work are amazing and the parts look like a piece of art. Boat Lift Lock were meticulous with the install on both lifts, making sure everything fit and worked properly. Their service is also world class. After they installed the system on the larger lift, the people who installed the lift came out and installed a walk board. Unfortunately, they didn’t install it so that it would not interfere with the Boat Lift Lock. I called Keith when I discovered this and he said he would be right over the next morning. Even though this was not a Boat Lift Lock issue, Keith corrected the other vendor’s error and my lift was usable again. Their response is fast and they really care about their customers. This system gives me the piece of mind that my boats will be as secure as they can be during a storm. It is very easy to use and I can have both of my boats secured in less than five minutes. The boats are very rigid on the lifts and will not swing or sway. I travel a lot, so if I’m gone, my wife can easily engage the Boat Lift Lock by herself. No climbing all over the lifts and boats trying the strap everything together. This was well with the investment and I’m very happy with the system and the great people at Boat Lift Lock.

This system is built like a tank, oversize everything. I have no doubt it would handle securing my 30' cat in a major hurricane. It is so easy to engage and disengage that I raise my boat up even for a short business trip. This couple has the best customer experience you could ever dream about. Check it out!

Named storm alertGulf of Mexico · SW Florida

The day a storm gets a name, everyone on this list hears from us.

Download the brochure, ask for a quote or register a lift and you're on the storm list. When the National Hurricane Center names a system in the Gulf, we send one text and one email: the deploy checklist for your arms, the storm-height reminder, and a number to call if you need a hand raising the boat.
