Mouse control & prevention

Mice don't wait. Neither do we.

Once they get inside, mice settle quickly and begin nesting in walls, attics, basements, and kitchens. We eliminate current activity and reduce future problems, starting from the outside.

Handled the right way

Address the source, not just what you're seeing.

We take a structured approach to both eliminate current activity and reduce future problems. Interior areas are treated as needed, while the main focus is placed on controlling activity from the outside.

Exterior bait stations are installed around the home to create a protective barrier, helping reduce rodent pressure before mice make their way inside. The goal isn't just to deal with what you're seeing. It's to address the source and reduce the chances of it happening again.

The mouse program

Control it from the outside in.

We take a structured approach to both eliminate current activity and reduce future problems.

1

Inspect

We track the access points and the activity: droppings, gnaw marks, nesting material and the routes mice travel.

2

Exterior stations

Tamper-resistant, lockable bait stations around the perimeter create a protective barrier and cut rodent pressure before mice get inside.

3

Interior as needed

Interior areas are treated as needed, while the main focus stays on controlling activity from the outside.

4

Seal and return

Pipe penetrations, small gaps and minor openings sealed with sealant or steel wool, and return visits to maintain protection over time.

Signs you might have mice

Six things to look for.

Droppings

Small, dark droppings (about the size of a grain of rice) are often found along baseboards, in cabinets, and in drawers.

Gnaw marks

Mice chew on wood, wires, food packaging, and other materials, leaving visible bite marks.

Nesting material

Look for shredded paper, insulation, or fabric in hidden areas like closets, attics, behind appliances, or inside walls.

Grease marks

Mice leave dark, oily smudges along walls and baseboards as their fur rubs against surfaces while they travel the same routes.

Scratching noises

You may hear scratching, scurrying, or squeaking in your walls, ceiling, or attic, especially at night.

Footprints

In dusty areas, you may see small tracks or trails left behind. Mouse footprints are tiny, with four toes on the front feet and five on the back feet.

Why treat the outside?

Long-term control starts at the exterior.

Mice are constantly moving around the outside of the home looking for entry points. By placing bait stations around the perimeter, we reduce the overall population near the structure and limit the chances of mice getting inside.

As temps drop, mice find their way into homes at rapid rates. Now is the time to get the stations in.

Common questions

Mice, answered.

Are these stations safe?

Yes. We use tamper-resistant, lockable bait stations that require a specialized key to open. Stations are placed strategically around the exterior of the home and are designed to help prevent access by children and pets when installed and maintained properly.

Can I move a station?

As with any pest control product, stations should not be disturbed or tampered with. We recommend notifying us if a station becomes damaged or displaced so it can be properly serviced.

What about prevention?

Once we get your home under control, we address common, accessible entry points such as pipe penetrations, small gaps, and minor openings using materials like sealant or steel wool where appropriate.

Do you come back?

Yes. We keep an eye on conditions around the home and return as needed to check for new activity and maintain protection over time. Weather and normal wear can create new entry points.

We had Nick from FenGuard come out to inspect our home, and we were impressed from the start. He was personable, knowledgeable, and professional throughout the entire inspection. He took his time, was very thorough, and answered all of our questions without ever making us feel rushed. It was clear that he genuinely cared about helping us understand what was going on and finding the right solution. Choosing FenGuard over a larger pest control company was definitely the right decision for us.

We recently heard noises in our attic and had FenGuard come out to inspect it. They checked everything thoroughly—even on one of the hottest days of the year—and confirmed that while something may have been there before, nothing is there now. The team was very courteous and respectful of our home. They even wore shoe covers, which we really appreciated. Overall, it was a great experience, and they gave us real peace of mind. Highly recommend FenGuard!

Nick Fenner started this company after gaining valuable experience in the field. He has been honest, courteous, and timely in his dealings with us and, most importantly, eradicated our house of bats. I would strongly recommend his services for pest elimination. I also like to support our military and he is an army veteran to boot.

They came out immediately to address the bat issue and safety removed all of them as well as sealed up the bank so we would no longer have this problem. I appreciate all the hard work and professionalism they put into getting the job done right the first time.

Early Sunday morning 5:30 I got a call from a member of our senior citizen co-op apartment, stating she had a bird trapped in her bathroom. I started making calls to critter removal companies. Early on Sunday morning FenGuard was the first to call me back. They set up a time to come out, and we're a few minutes early. Nicholas, was very professional and removed what turned out to be a BAT. Nicholas is not just an employee, Nicholas is the small business owner, and United States veteran. Nicholas was kind, courteous, and very professional. And his pricing was extremely reasonable!!! Happy to give this young man a five-star rating!!!

Excellent service. Nick ended up coming to my house four times to make sure that no more bats would be getting into my house. He explained about the bats being protected in Michigan and made a one-way exit door from my attic, so the bats could safely leave but not return. He was very prompt and showed up when he said he would. He also communicated when he would show up and explained the whole process. He was easy to get a hold of via text. I would highly recommend this company for any type of bat or mice problem. I wish other companies would be as reliable and responsive as Fenguard.
